When we meet with our clients to talk about their business, a lot of the time we spend more time talking about staffing issues rather than accounting issues. Employing, managing and training staff in your small business can be a time consuming and daunting task if you haven’t had much experience with it before.
We recently met Kelly Munro from Ignite HR who provides essential HR services for small to medium sized business in Brisbane. Kelly works with business owners to get the best out of their employees and minimise the risks associated with employing staff.
We believe Kelly’s services are perfect for small business owner’s who don’t have the need to employ a HR person to work within their business, but are just looking for guidance and solutions to their staffing issues.
We sat down with Kelly for a little Q&A time to allow you to get to know a little bit more about Ignite HR.
Q. Tell us about your business?
A. Ignite HR provides Human Resource (HR) consultancy for small to medium businesses. If you’re a business owner I help you get the best out of your employees and minimise the risks associated with employing staff.
I use effective tools to improve understanding and communication in the workforce to maximize the performance of your employees and also offer you systems and processes to ensure you no longer have to be concerned about what to do when there is an issue with one of your employees.
Q. What makes your business different to your competitors?
A. I get excited about helping make a workplace hum – where staff are motivated and actively contributing to the success of the business and owners can focus on the business rather than being caught up in the business.
I do this by understanding your business, keeping things simple and implementing solutions that will work for your circumstances. Further information on our approach can be found in our video blog here
Q. Tell us something business owners may not know about the HR industry
A. Many people aren’t really sure what Human Resources (HR) do. A common (mis)understanding is “recruitment and payroll” as these are the frequent touch points, however effective HR runs much deeper than that and can make a significant impact on the bottom line of your business.
Further information on how HR can benefit your business can be found here
Ignite HR is pleased to offer Empire Accountants clients a complementary consultation to identify how to get the best out of your people. To arrange this please call Kelly Munro on 0479 165 088 or e-mail at kelly@ignitehr.com.au
